1955 Bowman Eddie Waitkus #4 - I was thrilled when I found a copy of this
card at my LCS back in 2015.
The write up on the back of the card spells out Waitkus' comeback - after being shot by an apparent stalker.
That's one of the coolest card back writeups ever written!
ReplyDeleteExcellent choice - the story of Waitkus has long fascinated me. Additionally, his former Cubs teammate, Billy Jurges was also shot by a deranged fan around the same time and both stories combined to inspire The Natural.
