Featured autograph - Gordon Beckham

From a f/s listing in a Facebook group I belong to, this was 1 of 3 IP/TTM autograph cards I picked up for $2 each - while I made sure to get a certified autograph of Beckham early in his pro career, he did not seem like he was an easy player to get an autograph from IP/TTM.

Coming out of college, I thought Beckham was going to be a big league star, but despite sticking around for 12 years - he was more of an up-and-down disappointment than a player to build around.

Featured autograph - Gordon Beckham

The only autograph I have of Beckham is a certified autograph card I picked up for about $30 and change when I thought he'd an all-star talent - as is, he wasn't good at all and was mostly a disappointment with the Chicago White Sox.

Now that he is on the Angels, I do see Beckham as a warm, live body to put at third base to spell David Freese - who seems to have been micromanaged by Halos manager Mike Scioscia as if not to overextend him.

Maybe the change of scenery revives Beckham a little bit - even if his future beyond this season maybe a little uncertain.

Featured autograph - Buster Posey

In another 'mess up,' I might have lost another binder of cards, including this signed card of San Francisco Giants star Buster Posey when the Chicago White Sox played the Angels - fortunately I was able to recover my 'book' the next day at the ballpark when I checked with guest relations and the woman I spoke with checked a lost and found log.

I must have gotten the card signed in spring training in 2009 - besides a 2008 Bowman Chrome certified autograph I paid way too much for, I've never gotten the other guy on the Posey signed card.

I probably should leave the card 'as is,' as I got the guy who turned out to have a more prominent MLB career as opposed to the up-and-down disappointment - but I'd like to finish it off somehow.
