Featured autograph - Kole Calhoun

I grabbed Calhoun's 2016 Topps Stadium Club certified autograph card because the image used of the Angels fan favorite makes the card unique - Calhoun looks like he's walking through a tunnel underneath a stadium with his bats and glove in-hand, looking ready to get his work in.

In addition to a 2012 Topps Update Gold parallel [#US157] I already had, this was the second card of Calhoun I was able to add to my frankenset - he's not quite a star, but as an overachieving ginger, Calhoun is a fan favorite among the non-Mike Trout category of current Angels players.

Though Calhoun plays in a different era and for a different organization - he's kind of like Rusty Greer lite.

Calhoun has never been any sort of top prospect and his path to get to the Major Leagues has been a little bit more pedestrian - but he has been able to hit wherever he has played, so he still has a little upside if given an opportunity to play on a somewhat regular basis in the next year or so.

Obviously he isn't Mike Trout, but Calhoun already fits the mold of a fan favorite - so Angels fans are clamoring for him to get a prolonged opportunity to see what he can do.
