Cards people who buy modern don't care about

I was trying to make something out of my time at the monthly card show and ended up at a seller's tables where his father usually tags along to help out - I don't ever really get to know the individuals behind the tables, but this guy seems more of a card shark where he busts all sorts of basketball, football, soccer, maybe non-sports unopened along with primarily with higher end singles in his showcases.

His material at the lowest end consists of $0.50 boxes, mostly for other sports - but he brought out his other boxes [which were quarter cards] where he may have had a bigger table setup and had his family hanging out as well.

I tried to dig through the baseball row of his quarter boxes, even though it's probably just older material from 2020 rather than newer stuff through 2021 - I like the idea of rummaging through cheap-o cards where regardless of value, see legitimate star power in my probable take home stash.

I may have to cap the total number of cards I end up with where I don't want to necessarily blow my wad at one spot - I came up with 36 assorted cards for $9, including some NFL and NBA stragglers that somehow made it as keepers.

2015 Topps Chrome blaster recap 1 of 2

Looking to pull a Topps Chrome Kris Bryant base and/or a parallel card to squirrel away - when I found out there was a Topps.com shop 25 percent off promotion during Labor Day weekend, I picked up a couple of 'value boxes' for just under $40 shipped.

I don't know if the promotion really did anything to make these blaster boxes that much more of a bargain - but finding particular types of blasters at big box stores can be iffy at times and at the very least, I didn't have to leave the house to get my first fix of this year's Topps Chrome.

Featured autographs - Andrew McCutchen

I got a 2011 Topps Chrome refractor and a 2013 Bowman Blue Sapphire reprint scribbled on by the Pittsburgh Pirates star outfielder - it looks like McCutchen maybe a frontrunner for the National League MVP, while his Pirates squad is in a dogfight in the NL Central, looking to finish at .500 or above for the first time since 1992.

2006 Topps Chrome Mike Napoli Black refractor #317

I picked up this card because I'm on a 'shiny, refractor parallel' kick and I'm trying to pick up related inserts here and there - also I'm trying to digging out all of my inserts and listing them all on a spreadsheet, even if they aren't worth much.

I don't think I'm a collector who buys too many boxes of cards to have numerous types of inserts.- however, I'd like to know the types of cards [i.e. refractor, common insert, parallel, short print, etc].

At the very least, I figure I can take a look through a part of my collection and account for the cards I have in-hand - instead of merely just hoarding and hoarding random cards that I may not get to appreciate after they've been squirreled away in binders and/or boxes.
