TTM autographs received: Scott Livingstone

Livingstone was a useful rank-and-file guy who could hit a little bit through the mid 1990s, though I have no recollection of him past his early junk wax era years with the Detroit Tigers - he signed my cards in blue Sharpie in about three weeks, but the pen was dying, so the autographs are didn't quite come out as bold.

Results are likely to vary when sending off cards TTM, but maybe it adds to the charm and quaintness to see something - signed in another color Sharpie besides blue or black or a glossy card signed in ballpoint pen or some other odd pen.

For the most part I want things in blue Sharpie or blue ink - but I'm reminded of going through my friend's book of autograph cards 20 years ago, where he would get stuff back in all sorts of colors and pen types.

Featured autograph - Jeff D. Robinson

Robinson spent 9 seasons in the big leagues and was a moderately successful relief pitcher - he signed some cards for me recently and while his signature is apparently just one lazy stroke, it's another for my Angels all-time autograph collection.

Through flipping through their junk wax era cards, I was vaguely aware there were two Jeff Robinsons that pitched from the 1980s through the early 1990s - Jeff M. Robinson, passed away in 2014.

Featured autograph - Chris Cron

Another former Angel autograph to add my collection - Cron is the hitting coach for the Salt River Rafters in the Arizona Fall League and I was able to get a couple of cards signed in-person before a game several weeks ago.

Featured card: 1992 Donruss Chris Cron #698

I vaguely know former Angel Chris Cron through the few baseball cards he has - from his brief stint as a Major League player back in the early 1990s. Apparently he has made a career as a long time manager in the minor leagues.

More importantly however, one of his sons [C.J.] was selected by the Angels with the 18th overall pick in this year's draft
- I'm going to have to pay attention to the younger Cron, since I've never even heard of him until I read some blurbs about him a couple of weeks ago.

It looks like C.J. Cron is a big, hulking slugger type
- he maybe a guy who can get to the Major Leagues in a couple of years, if he progresses as he should.

Despite not expecting C.J. to be able to help the parent team in Anaheim anytime soon - it seems like there is a power outage and the Angels probably need guys in the farm system capable of hitting the ball out of the park.
