TTM autographs received: Tony La Russa

The longtime manager signed my cards in about three weeks c/o the Chicago White Sox back in August - at 77, he finally got a bit long in the tooth and stepped down as a big league manager after the White Sox season ended.

TTM autographs received: Luis Tiant

The former big league starting pitcher signed my cards in about a couple of months - I ended up picking up a couple of loose cards [1974 Topps and a 2021 Topps Chrome Platinum Anniversary] that ideally would look nice with an autograph and I ponied up to send $20 [$10 per card] to have my cards inked up.

Tiant was a player certainly before my time, but he pitched in the big leagues for 19 years and won 229 games - he is among the Hall of Very Good, but maybe deserved more consideration for actual the Hall of Fame.

TTM autographs received: Bill Mazeroski

The Hall of Fame second baseman signed my cards in about three weeks for his current per card fee - while I don't like the idea of finding more random cards out of the bulk quarter boxes [in this case] to send out in a repeat TTM request, I couldn't resist.

2021 Topps Chrome Platinum Anniversary finds

I stumbled upon a table with monster boxes of assorted cards and I started digging through the baseball portion because I started to find cards from the 2021 Topps Chrome Platinum Anniversary set - reading up, the product might have just been released [despite being dated to 2021] as a 700-card set with active and retired players, using the 1952 Topps design.

I tried grabbing all the better players as much as I could [notably any retired legends / Hall of Famers and/or even a few non-HOF fan favorites] - while trying to leave the cards of some of the 'iffier' players in my book.

It might not be a coup, but ending up with just a little over 70 cards from this newish set has me feeling like I really did something - where I can use the fresh cards for binder material, even if it's the basic cards as opposed to parallels.
